Hi! I’m Arlo, an Old English Sheepdog. We’re an endearing shaggy coat breed with a gentle demeanor that ignites a passionate love for all things canine in you humans. Our majestic breed, often affectionately referred to as the “Bobtail,” boasts a rich history steeped in herding traditions. Our distinctive appearance, characterized by a profuse, weather-resistant double coat that conceals our expressive eyes, makes us a true marvel to behold, if I do say so myself!
But it’s not just our captivating appearance that captures the hearts of dog enthusiasts; it’s our delightful personality that truly sets us apart. Yea. I tell funny jokes…And sing a mean karaoke at Christmas parties, but thats just me. We’re all different. Us Old English Sheepdogs are known for our boundless energy, unwavering loyalty, and our innate sense of playfulness that never fades, NEVER EVER FADES…making US fantastic family companions. You read that right. We’re kinda big deals. Our innate herding instincts, a remnant of our past, manifest in our natural protectiveness and an irresistible desire to keep our loved ones together. We do tend to nip at a early age, but with a little proper training, before you know it, you wont even know I’m licking your ankles! Anyway. So, Yea, as I was saying…..We’re Neat-O-Mosquito.
We aren’t just pets; Pshhhhh what does that even mean? We are family members who thrive on affection and reciprocate it with our own brand of goofy charm. I, personally, am a master of facial expressions. I think i was an Old English Mime in a past life…. Whether we’re bounding through fields, our shaggy coat flowing like a fluffy cloud, or sitting by your side with an endearing tilt of our head, we embody the very essence of canine devotion. We love you. There. I said it. Every day spent with one of us fluffy, lovable giants is an adventure filled with warmth, laughter, and an enduring bond that grows stronger with each passing moment. The Old English Sheepdog breed are of medium to large size, with males typically standing around 22 inches at the shoulder and females slightly smaller. Their robust build is well-balanced, conveying strength and agility. The breed’s trademark shaggy double coat is iconic— dense, profuse, and water-resistant.
